MMMUT Students Develop Online Platform for Pet Registration in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur: Pet owners in Gorakhpur will soon have access to an easier way of registering animals like dogs, cats, and rabbits with the Municipal Corporation. Registration is mandatory, and so the corporation has partnered with students from Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) to simplify the process.

A team of second-year B.Tech students, namely Himanshu Upadhyay, Utkarsh, Nidhi Singh, Ashutosh Verma, and Aarav Shukla, developed a dedicated website for this purpose. The project was completed under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Tiwari, Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Engineering department at MMMUT.

The website allows users to submit their application by uploading the required documents and paying the registration fee online. Once submitted, applications will be verified by Municipal Corporation officials before a license is issued. The platform will also support license renewals.

On Saturday, team leader Himanshu Upadhyay presented the website to Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Singh Sogarwal. Following the demonstration, the project received positive feedback and a few technical suggestions for improvement.

According to Additional Municipal Commissioner Durgesh Mishra, the student-developed website for pet registration has been reviewed and is expected to be made available to city residents after minor refinements.
