Fly with Two Pets on Akasa Air with New Policy

Akasa Air has updated its pet travel policy in India under its “Pets on Akasa” service, giving passengers more flexibility to fly with their furry companions. The airline announced that the changes are designed to make travel easier and more comfortable for both pets and their owners.

One of the key updates is that passengers can now carry two pets in the cabin on Akasa Air flights. Earlier, only one pet was allowed in the cabin. With this change, families or individuals travelling with more than one pet can now bring them together on the same journey.

The airline has also raised the weight allowance for pets in the cabin. Now, pets up to 10 kilograms, including the carrier, are permitted to travel inside the cabin. This update means that slightly larger pets, who were earlier restricted, can now stay close to their owners instead of travelling as cargo.

Another change in the Akasa Air pet policy is the extension of the validity of mandatory health certificates. This gives pet parents more time to prepare documents without the last-minute stress before boarding. The service has also been expanded to cover 24 domestic destinations, including major cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai. This wider network ensures more passengers across India can use the service.

Akasa Air has also introduced extra benefits for those flying with pets. These include pre-booked window seats, priority check-in, and faster baggage delivery after landing. According to the airline, these features are aimed at reducing travel stress and offering a smooth experience for passengers and their pets.

The company said that the safety and comfort of animals remain its top priority. Ground staff, cabin crew, and customer support teams have received special training to ensure pets are well cared for throughout the journey.

Since the launch of Pets on Akasa in November 2022, the airline has already transported more than 8,500 pets across India. With growing demand for pet-friendly airlines in India, Akasa Air is focusing on making itself the preferred choice for pet parents.
