Delhi Opens its First-Ever Pet Dog Park

Vishakha Yadav, the Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Karol Bagh said the swings in the park are made out of waste material and discarded tyres. She also added that since the pandemic, pets and their owners have been locked in their houses which made them fall prey to lifestyle diseases. This park will help the pets to stay fit and rejuvenate. The aesthetic art is made by Delhi Street Art to make animals feel more peaceful.

These types of parks already exist in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. It was Hyderabad that started India’s first park for visitors with paw friends back on October 18th, 2018.

The South MCD is also planning to open similar parks in Jangpura or Dwarka. It will have an off-leash area for dogs and cats to stretch, pet grooming, a play area, a veterinary clinic with facilities for surgery, and stalls selling pet food and accessories. It will also consist dog trail, and space for running, digging, and swimming.
